Benjamin Smith
Joiner
Ben started his joinery journey as an apprentice in Bury St Edmunds, before moving to Precision Made Joinery for his second year when his original company sadly closed. A few years on, he has developed into a valued and qualified member of the team. Ben has always enjoyed practical, hands-on work and chose joinery after discovering that he particularly enjoyed working with his hands at school. He went on to study carpentry and joinery at West Suffolk College and now enjoys the variety of work at PMJ and continuing to develop his skills across different projects.
Your favourite PMJ moment?
What’s the part / day of your working week you look forward to most?
The Christmas team evening, and all the other team events throughout the year. Ben enjoys the chance to get everyone together outside the workshop and have a bit of fun.
Away from the workshop…
What do you enjoy getting up to outside PMJ?
Ben loves getting out on his motorbike, having passed his licence recently. When the weather is good, you’ll often find him out riding, and he also enjoys spending time working on and enjoying cars.
Your secret superpower?
If you could have any superpower, what would you choose?
Telekinesis, purely for practical reasons! He’d be able to call any tool he needed straight to his bench without having to get up and fetch it. Maximum efficiency, minimum movement!! 😉
