Neil Maxwell
Cabinet Maker
Neil brings a depth of cabinet-making knowledge and experience to the Precision Made Joinery workshop. His route into the trade began while studying, when he started working in carpentry before going on to complete a cabinet-making course in Ipswich, and quickly discovering where his real passion lay. Since then, he has worked across a wide range of woodworking disciplines, from reproducing furniture and creating handmade kitchens to running his own internal cabinetry business. His experience spans everything from veneering and polishing to detailed cabinet making, giving him the ability to turn his hand to almost anything that comes through the workshop. It is the variety at PMJ that he particularly enjoys. Alongside his cabinet-making role, Neil is also one of the team’s Fire Marshals, taking on an important responsibility for the safety of the team.
Your favourite PMJ moment?
What’s the part / day of your working week you look forward to most?
Thursday, Neil can’t quite put his finger on why, but he’s decided it’s definitely his favourite day of the week!
Away from the workshop…
What do you enjoy getting up to outside PMJ?
Neil is happiest outdoors and enjoys just about anything that gets him moving, running, walking, cycling and paddleboarding are all firm favourites.
Your secret superpower?
If you could have any superpower, what would you choose?
Neil would choose invisibility. Not for disappearing from the workshop, but so he could quietly help people without them knowing, using his powers to give someone a helping hand or a confidence boost when they need it. His superhero of choice is Iron Man.
