Rhys Johnston
Joiner & Machinist
Rhys is a Level 3 joiner with a wonderfully practical, can-do approach to life in the workshop. Having worked across different areas before joining Precision Made Joinery, he was keen to get back to the skills he knows he is good at, working with his hands, machinery and, most importantly, fixing things when they go wrong. His role has developed to include responsibility as a Machinist, as well as being one of the team’s Fire Marshals. Rhys enjoys the practical problem-solving side of joinery and is always ready to get stuck in.
Your favourite PMJ moment?
What’s the part / day of your working week you look forward to most?
Quiet, productive starts are a favourite for Rhys, particularly the 6:30–7:30am period when the workshop is calm and he can get stuck into the work. Saturday mornings are another favourite.
Away from the workshop…
What do you enjoy getting up to outside PMJ?
Outside PMJ, Rhys enjoys spending time with his family and children, as well as getting out with the family dog, Layla.
Your secret superpower?
If you could have any superpower, what would you choose?
If Rhys could choose a superpower, it would be the ability to see into the future and prevent problems before they happened, which could certainly come in handy in a busy workshop. His superhero of choice is Iron Man.
