Stacey Wills
Trainee Joiner
Stacey’s route into joinery was not exactly conventional — and that is part of what makes her story so interesting. With a background in equine studies and experience in a variety of different areas, Stacey discovered joinery while looking for something that would challenge her, keep her busy and provide a secure future for her family. She first came to Precision Made Joinery for a work experience day and impressed the team enough to earn herself a place in the workshop. She quickly discovered that joinery gave her exactly what she had been looking for: creativity, concentration and the satisfaction of seeing something take shape from start to finish. She describes it as almost therapeutic, when she is working, she can become completely immersed in the task and lose track of time. She has also found a real sense of belonging at PMJ, enjoying the variety of the work and the people around her.
Your favourite PMJ moment?
What’s the part / day of your working week you look forward to most?
Every day! Stacey loves that no two days are quite the same. There is always something different to work on, a new problem to solve or another skill to develop, which keeps things interesting.
Away from the workshop…
What do you enjoy getting up to outside PMJ?
Stacey loves being outdoors and keeping active, whether that is walking, getting stuck into a Zumba class or, more recently, discovering a new love of camping and trekking.
Your secret superpower?
If you could have any superpower, what would you choose?
If Stacey could choose a superpower, she would ask for more hours in the day, preferably with an endless supply of energy to go with them! Her superhero of choice would be Wonder Woman.
