Residential Dwelling – Suffolk
We were first introduced to our client at the beginning of 2020 to design and manufacture his Kitchen and Utility Room, as part of a total house renovation. We worked closely with him to identify his requirements and specific needs for the space. After some consultation he decided on Anthracite as the colour for his units, however he needed advice on how we could make the design feel opulent yet masculine. We recommended the use of American Black Walnut to compliment the Anthracite.
He was impressed with our consultative approach but more importantly with our craftmanship and finish. We were then asked to design and build a Media Unit for the open plan Kitchen and a further one for the Living Room. We designed these using the same Walnut, paint colour and handle choice to allow for fluidity throughout the property. Next on the agenda was a Vanity Unit with a cool, white, clean, modern feel and a Kitchen Island to match for his Party Room.
We are proud to have been shortlisted for The BWF Woodworking Project of the Year Award 2021 for our work on this project.
There were so many interesting and challenging parts to this evolving project. Not to mention the project starting just before the first Lockdown with several materials and accessories becoming unavailable due to Furlough or on a longer lead time.
The client fell in love with American Black Walnut and wanted to incorporate as much of the timber as possible throughout the rest of the property without it being too imposing. Within the Kitchen were steel posts and to avoid these standing bare, we recommended cladding these in Walnut and to have all Door Frames and Skirting to match.
We were asked to design a floating staircase that would incorporate steel works and American Black Walnut Treads and lighting. We worked closely with a local Engineering company to design something modern yet functional. As project managers we pulled on the resources and supplies of many local businesses for non-joinery related products and built up some fantastic relationships.
One of the final elements of the project included Walnut Frames for a Glass partitioned front Hallway, with the concluding part involving the design and manufacture of a bespoke Bed with Bedside Cabinets in American Black Walnut with charging ports.
We thoroughly enjoyed working on this project. Not only was the client a lovely person to work for, the on-site team were fantastic too.

“I have recently completed a fourteen month complete refurbishment of my home which involved many trades. At the outset I spoke with each trade and explained what my ultimate goal would be for the completed project. I was recommended to use Precision Made Joinery ltd (PMJL) by the site project manager as my ideas were completely bespoke for the kitchen, which was to be open plan and the hub of the house for social gatherings.
A meeting was arranged for Scott to visit and listen to my requirements, it was so refreshing that Scott listened and completely understood what I was looking for. Within a very short time Scott arrived with drawings and I was somewhat shocked they were exactly what I wanted. I chose the colour of units and Scott then threw in Walnut would be a fantastic contrast, how right he was!! I visited the workshop where Scott and Nadia gave me options for worktops, handles and appliances. Once selected Precision took on the project and can only describe their work as truly precision in every way.
The kitchen is bespoke and Scott’s attention to detail has truly made it my dream kitchen. After seeing the standard of work I had no choice but to involve Precision in more areas of the house which included a large unit in the lounge, a floating staircase, a glass partitioned hallway, a complete bed and integrated drawers with bedside cabinets along with a headboard all in stunning walnut.
Nadia, Scott and the team at Precision made joinery were truly amazing and deserve every success that they will achieve. A huge thank you from myself, and all this work carried out during a Pandemic to cost and on time.
